The dark Lord sat beside his fireplace and stroked the soft head of the large serpent beside him. Things had been quiet in the wizarding world and that was just the way he liked it.
It was hard to accomplish anything when chaos abounded.
There had always been rumors and falsehoods going around about him. Those who had no idea what he was truly trying to accomplish. This was a way of life he thought worth preserving and the muggles who trued to destroy it were more deadly than the ministry would ever admit to anyone.
Why they would refuse to see how dangerous exposure of the wizarding world to muggles was he would never understand. And those who were not pure of blood had no true loyalty to the wizarding world.
So the dark Lord waited and planned and gathered wealth and loyal to help him in his quest.

She exited the Hogwarts gate. Though she loved the school, she needed to go somewhere where she felt at home. So she grabbed her portkey and landed within her lavish room inside of her Lord's manor.
She smiled as her snake came from around her bed post and greeted her. She went to her bag and pulled out one of the rabbit statues from her class. She pointed her wand at it and had a live rabbit in a matter of seconds. She placed the rabbit next to her snake as it hissed a "thanks" to her.
"You are welcome. Now, I will be back in a minute."
She stopped by the mirror to change her clothes. She pointed her wand at her Slytherin uniform and it became a pair of black jeans with a black shirt to match. She pulled her black hair from a ponytail and it fell down her back. She then exited her room.
She knew that her Lord knew that she was there. She stopped in front of his study and knocked upon the door.
"My Lord, it is Daphne."

Hearing the light knock upon the door the Dark Lord ceased in his thoughts and looked toward the portal.
" Enter the way is clear. "
He tightened his hand around the smooth wood of his wand. Never less than totally vigilant the Dark Lord watched the portal with bright crimson eyes.

She took a deep breath befor eentering. She knew what she had to do but hoped to hades that she was not making a mistake.
She opened the study door and looked to her Lord. She immedietly walked over and kneeled as low as she could. She peered at him through black hair and blue orbs and spoke.
"My Lord, I well.." Her voice was slightly shacky since she was very scared. She knew the stories of the others that dispeased her Lord. She turned her gaze to the floor before speaking.
"Things in Hogwarts have been quite...trying these past few weeks. Since I was the center of the controversy, I decided to come to you myself. I was placed under a curse by an undercover auror who was trying to get close to my head of house." She looked up at the man. She held his gaze for a moment before turning back to the floor.
"He mentally and physically abused me and planned on killing me. My head of house and another professor stepped in before that happened and he is now in Azkaban" She looked up into crimson orbs. She swallowed deeply not being able to read his emotions towards her.
"I am so sorry my Lord. I never meant for this to happen. I know that I should have been more careful. I do not want to spoil our way of life or displease you. I will do anything to make it up to you my Lord."

The Dark Lord gave a slight nod to the young death eater as she knelt before him. It was very rare that he would ever think of allowing one so young to be one of his loyal. He had need of someone inside Hogwarts to keep watch for him and let him know of those of pure blood and exceptional talent . That way when they graduated he could send someone to recruit them into the true way. His fingers laced through each other as he watched her through glowing crimson eyes.
He was holding his anger deep inside as she spoke. Lord Voldemort was no fool and he knew Crucioing the young death eater would accomplish nothing. She had been very foolish and would have to learn the lesson of mistrust . It would come slow to most but necessary to all. The Dark Lord was used to being the target for the ministry and also knew the young woman before him was not used to that or dealing with men who spoke with sugared words and larceny in their hearts.
His words as he spoke upon her completed were low and smooth as deadly sin.
"Miss Marin it has done you well to have come to me. I am going to assume you have given much thought to this incident and will not be so easily taken in the next time. Men who move too quickly to a serious relationship seldom have your best intrest at heart. I am not totally blaming you for falling for a man with a sweet tounge. However, you must realize the serious nature of your actions. You have brought the eyes of the ministry upon not only yourself but many others. There are many whose identity you have no clue nor should you. The actions of one however ,must not be allowed to put the others in danger. I expect you, as one of my loyal to keep me better informed of those you grow close to . I would have been better able to stop your heartache before it got this far had you come to me. "
Crimson eyes held their steady gaze as he spoke and with a smooth motion waved his hand to raise a roaring blaze in the fireplace.

She listened to her Lord's words and held his gaze.
"I am sorry my Lord. It was the first time I had ever had someone show that much....interest in me and I did let my younger side take over. I know that I was foolish and I have learned a big lesson from all of this. I will inform you of anyone else I may get close to.
I did not mean to put anyone in harms way. I didn't even know I was in harms way until I found out the truth. If there is anything I can do my Lord to make it up to you, I will."
Her blue orbs gazed into crimson ones. She knew that she was the youngest and she was still learning their was of life, but she knew that she had been wrong and more than likely she would be punished..

"You must realize the thing that stops me from giving you the punishment you so justly deserve is the knoweledge that you will punish yourself more than the temporary pain of a cruciatus might cause. You may rest assured that word has already been sent to Azkaban and that troublemaker will pay dearly for his actions. Now, I need for you to give me the name of the other professor involved. I will need to know how to reward him. Those who take care of mine are to be commended. "
He lifted his slender hand and began to softly stroke the smooth skin of the massive serpent beside him.
"Nagini would know how to handle that type of traitor wouldn't you ? "
It was not that he truly desired a response from the reptile he spoke to her out og habit more than anything . For many long months she had been his only companion. Nagini had taken care of him when he was vunerable and there had been no one around to help . The Dark Lord never forgot a debt of honor. Turning to the young death eater once more he stood and motioned her to sit . He walked with catlike stride to the dar alongside the carved desk and poured himself a brandy before returning to his favorite chair.

She breathed a silent sigh as she listenend to him speak. She had thought for sure she would have been place under a crucio but was relieved he didn't punish her. She already felt bad enough.
She stood from her kneeling position and took a seat across from his chair. She hissed a "hello" to his serpent before turning back to him as he returned from his bar.
"The other professor that helped me was a Professor Remus Lupin. Both him and my head of house helped me as much as they could. My Lord, I have a question to as you. I, well, I was hoping, if it was ok with you, that when I graduate next month, I could possibly take an apprentice job at Hogwarts."

A long pause filled the room as the Dark Lord drank a liberal draught of his snifter and framed his reply to the young death eater across from him. Never let them think that you have not thouroughly considered ever ramification of the question they are asking. Slowly he let his crimson eyes hold hers and spoke .
" I see no reason you should quit Hogwarts after you graduate. You can be of use to me there. Have you come across any of true talent with the proper bloodline to join our family? I have heard rumors that the traitor has taken an assistant that might one day be of use to me. Is this true? I know that was a position you , yourself desired. You must know however, I never thought that the proper place for you.The dungeon is too dark and too out of the line of traffic. it is hard to see what is going on around you within stone walls below the ground. "
Lord Voldemort once more drank from the snifter and set the drink beside him to lace long slender fingers together and peer at her so intently one might have thought he could see right through her. The dark Lord was a master of seeing beyond what appeared to be to what was.

The silence of th eroom as he drank his drink surrounded her. It wasn't until his powerful voie spoke to her that she turned to crimson orbs.
"Yes my Lord. My head of house has taken a rather good assistant. Her name is Pandamonia Maze. She is the daughter of the diplomat Cronos Maze. She is very skilled and very pure blood. She would make an elite member of our cause but there is one thing stopping her.
I met her keeper. His name is Fernando and I got a vibe from him and with my knowledge in some dark arts, I figured out that he was...the undead. But Panda doesn't see that. So he would be the only thing keeping her from joining our elite."
She swallowed hard before continuing.
"You are right my Lord. I did want the Potions assistant more than anything but I have applied for the position of the Defense Against the Dark Arts position. I figured that I could cover myself better by working for that class. I can also use the class time to see what talents the students might have to find more members for our cause."

A genuine one sided smile crossed the face of the Dark Lord as Daphne spoke. He thought that she might be gaining some of the knoweledge he had hoped she would.
"Fernando St. Germain.......... I know him well and his charges. I had quite forgotten they were of an age to you . The Maze twins were quite interesting when they were young.But Cronos and Fernando kept them so cloistered no one could get near them. I wonder what made him send them to Hogwarts. Do you know? What about the twin . You mentioned Pandamonia . What about Pandora? Is she as talented ? "
Crimson orbs danced at the thought of the twins joining his ranks. He was familiar with St.Germain and had no doubt he could strike a deal with the dark man.
"Defense Against the Dark Arts Might do you well. I think you are begining to use your talent and your brain. "

She smiled herself as the small smile crept on his face.
"My Lord, both twins have the capability of being great members of our cause. They both are very skilled and determined. As for Pandora, she was at the school for some time, but we have not seen her in a while. I figure she has gone back to be with Fernando since he was the only person she ever spoke of. So right now she is not in Hogwarts anymore and not under the watchful eye of those in the school and probably not her father.
As with Pandamonia, me and her have grown rather close over these past few terms. So I have her as my friend and I can still look around the school for potential. I am hoping that by working in the defense class, I will slowly be removed from the watching board"
She moved a piece of her newly dyed black hair form her face and shifted in her seat. She then turned back to the crimson eyed man.
" My Lord, I almost forgot. I have found a student in Hogwarts who wants to continue our way of life. His name is Darius Monroe. He is a seventh year Slytherin and he will be gradutating with me next month. He has told me that if was going to find some way to join into our elite. He just didn't know that I could possibly be the door for him to join. He is very bright and wealthy. He has great talent and is also very close to Pandamonia. I believe that he could be a fine addiction to our cause."
She back in the seat as she crossed her legs. She glanced at the crimson eyes man. Even though it seemed she had been getting into trouble, she still managed to do her job.

A slight one sided smile crept across the face of the dark Lord at the mention of the young Monroe .His family was one not unknown and the fact he sought entry into the order of the loyal made the Dark Lord pleased.
"I am familiar with the Monroe's and young Darius might do well with my instruction. You are to seek him out. Spend time with him and make sure he has the conviction to be one of the loyal. I want no mistakes. The fact he is close to Pandamonia is an added bonus. Now, I must caution you to be careful. This is no game of exploding snap you are playing at. Remus Lupin is not a stupid man or one that is easily fooled. It will take every bit of self control you posess to keep him from discovering your true intentions. Add to that the presence of the traitor and you may well find yourself in graver danger than that you have just confessed to . Soon , if everything works to the good I will host a very private affair which will bring together those of whom we speak so I may judge their worth. "
Long fingers curled around slender glass ware as the warming liquid slid down the throat of the dark Lord. His faithful Nagini curled between him and the young death eater sitting across from him.

She smiled to the man.
"I will my Lord. I have already begun to watch him. He is very skilled with his wand. But I will continue to seek him out.
As for Remus, I will control myself my Lord. I have a feeling that my working for him will be not only be beneficial to me but for you. That is if the rumors roaming my school are true. I have tried to deceive them all and I have succeeded. Dumbledore's second, the old woman, believes me to be a perfect student and she herself is trying to get me into the ministry as an auror. The other professors except the traitor sees me as just an outstanding student. Some have even questioned my being placed into Slytherin. So as long as I keep up the facade, I will hopefully be alright. It is just Severus that stops me from fully being in the clear."
She smiled a one sided smile as she thought of the potions master but it quickly faded.
"My Lord, at one point you had offered to train me personally. I was wondering if that offer still stood. I would be honored to learn whatever you could teach me. I believe that I am ready to undergo the training. I am tired of just being another faithful. I would like to prove to you that I could be one of your top faithfuls."
She looked deep within the crimson orbs of the man across from her. She wanted him to see the truth in her words. She knew that she was still young but she wanted to take her father's position. She wanted to be high on the ladder so to speak.

The Dark Lord smiled a genuine smile as the young death eater spoke and asked for his training.
" I made that offer in good faith Daphne. The only concern I have is the amount of time it would take away from the school and your upcoming duties there. The training I offer is not easy nor is it always without a price to be paid. We shall discuss it more over the coming months as we see how you are able to keep yourself safe amongst the enemy. Keep your port key close and your wits about you and the reward you will recieve will be great. "
He steepled his long fingers and looked at her with crimson eyes.
" I want you to be very careful and watch Miss Maze carefully. She may do well among us as well as your Mr Monroe. "
