Emma had studied Psychology whilst being at muggle school and decided that she should take part in this discussion.
'Both Hitler and Voldermort seemed to want to hide part of themselves and separated themselves from their backgrounds. In psychological terms, this might have been an ego-defence mechanism as their backgrounds cause them anxiety and so they resort to the extreme and try to distance themself from it. It is quite commonly known that Voldermort was born as half-muggle and he hated his muggle father. This anger was so strong that it lasted throughout his school days and led him to try and vent this anger onto other people. I think he wanted to prove to himself that he could be one of the most powerful wizards even with his muggle parent. He then turned against muggles because he was so angry with his father.'
