I am going to write this again for the people out there who have not seen the movie. DO NOT READ THIS THREAD IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS MOVlE!!!!!!!
Ok. Now if you read it anyways, its your fault not mine. I made this thread for everyone who has seen the movie and wants to speak about it. Now, I loved the movie personally especially the special effects that had to do with the dark mark and the way the death eaters poped out of it during the graveyard scene.
Viktor Krum was hott.
Snape was actually funny in this movie especially when he was hitting Ron and Hary when they weren't doing their work.
The bouncing ferret scene was oh so hilarious. I kinda felt bad for the scared Draco.
Ralph Fiennes did a uber great job playing Voldemort.
And Fleur was not a pretty as I thought she would be or maybe thats just me.

Hi Daphne!
Saw the movie too by now.
I'm really relieved! It was so much better than the third one!!!
Yes! The balance was there again. All right, there were a few minor changes in comparison with the book, but they were forgivable. After all, I can imagine it's not too easy to squeeze the book's entire content into just two hours (although I would most certainly not object to a much longer movie... like the LOTR's extended versions..but that's just me).
But what was great about this movie is that they managed to keep everyone in. Every character of some main importance was present, whether they are considered 'good' or 'bad'. Even when they hadn't really much to do in this part of the total story and didn't require much dialog, they were at least there. I mean, Draco doesn't have so much dialog in this part, but he does get his screen-shots! (And man! White men or boys aren't usually my type, but Draco looks simply hot in this movie!) The same goes for Snape. I love the scene in which he whacks the boys around their ears for not studying! So typical. Marvelously subtle.
The only negative things I can say about this 'episode' is that I still definitely HATE the new Dumbledore. He misses the twinkle, the Dumbledore-ness that the former actor had and they have still not rediscovered JKR's descriptions of the dear headmaster which clearly states that his robes are supposed to be bright in colour! Not to say anything of that ridiculous string in his beard!
Well, and further I really missed the link to book five. I mean the scene where incompetent Fudge refuses to believe Harry? That is rather vital for the connection to the following movie, isn't it?
However, besides this it really was great! And I liked the way Voldemort was presented as well. Real good performance. Oh, I could go on for hours about it...
Let's just keep it to the conclusion that it was a great movie.

It was great. I love the scene with Snape too, when he hit Harry and Ron. I like when Ron and Minerva dance'd it was so funny. When Cedric died it was quite sad.. But it was awesome.
I'm going to watch it again for sure. I just cant imagine if i wouldnt see it. It was so funny.
Sorry if its a little stupid post but i just cant say anything else. It was perfect. I know that some scenes were too short. But it was really enjoyable. I cant wait to see it once more.

[glow=purple,2,300]I thought the movie was the best out of the four.
Ariake, I completely agree with you. About Dumbledore and about the scene they left out with Harry, Dumbledore, and Fudge. I wonder what they're going to do to the 5th movie since they didn't have that scene. I don't see how they can keep the story line the same without it.
And as for Dumbledore, I stand by what I said before: they need get Ian McKellen. Anyone who's seen him in LOTR would agree with me, right? The scene with Snape was very funny, but he was barely in it.
It's not just you, Daphne. I pictured Fluer much prettier than that, too.
Voldemort was good, but they left out his whole speech! They could have made it a little bit longer! People for sure would have still watched it. Maybe they will make an extended version, like they did with LOTR. Even though I knew a lot of it had to be cut, it was still weird watching it and a ton of stuff was missing. Like Dobby, Winky, Crouch Jr's real story, Percy, Divination (I'd forgotten that it wasn't in the 3rd movie, either), and Sirius. That was really weird how they did the floo, btw. Although SIrius is one of my favorite characters, I can't say I'm too upset that he wasn't really in the movie, since I didn't like who they picked to play him. All in all it was a great movie.[/glow]

I miss Winky especially, I was looking forward to how Winky would look. Also, I would have prefered more quidditch as they seemed to skip past pretty much all of the Quidditch World Cup.
But, other than missing things out, which was inevitable as the book was huge, I thought the film was great and went to see it twice. It is definitely loads better than the other three and the acting is much better too, and it had Cedric Diggory in it!!!!!

I saw it last night and it rocks! First of all, the 4th was my least favorite book so I don't think I was expecting as much because I didn't partcularly enjoy the book. I can't really give specifics so much, because I don't like disecting movies/books. It did leave stuff out, of course, but the story-line was still there and I think that if I hadn't read the book, I'd still be able to follow along. By the way, I don't either like the Dumbledore. I think he was better in the 3rd movie than this one. He's veryyyyy strange. He gives DUmbledore such a different personality than I think Dumbledore should have. The main thing I didn't like about the movie was the ending. I'm so curious to see how they'll start the 5th movie without the end of the 4th one. It's missing a lot. The scene with Fudge, of course, but also harry didn't get his winnings and so he didn't give them to Fred and George so I wonder what will happen with their store and products int he next couple of movies. Anyways, I LOVED the movie! It was definetly the best of all so far!

Well, before watching the movie, I didn't get a chance to read the book first (as I always do before catching the movie) because I was busy. But now I just read the book and found out that there are lots of important bits missing. I totally agree that the part with Fudge could not have been left out, there would be a lot of problems with the plot in the 5th one with no elaboration on that. Furthermore, the 5th book is much longer than the 4th. I wonder how they're going to manage that. And the last part with Barty Crouch Jr's explanation was so important! That should have been included too, for the benefit of people who hadn't read the book bcos I'm sure those people would be feeling quite lost with the bits and pieces thrown into the movie.
Now, on a positive note, I think the movie was definitely better than all the other 3! I enjoyed it immensely, particularly the amusing parts added in with the professors; Snape hitting Ron and Harry as well as McGonagall dancing with Ron. It was hilarious. And the scene at the end with Cedric was wonderful too, it made me feel so emotional for some reason...bcos it was horrific to see everyone cheering like that when Cedric was actually dead. My heart kinda sank. I think that was a good dramatic irony done on the director's part, or maybe that's just my opinion.
Well, so yeah, I've added my two cents worth, I'v e been wondering for a while if I should do it or not. Lazy ol' me.

I think this is the best film so far. I have allready seen it three times and am not bored by it. i think they could have made the tasks a little more accurate especially the maze they could have at least put one of the obstacles in as this would have made it a little more interesting. i think it should have also been scarier especially voldemort ad surely they could have given him coloured contact lenses to make his eyes red as they didnt look right blue.

My favorite thing about this movie is that even though they cut out so much, it still followed the story . Man they've all grown up so much! The movies are just going to get better I think.

Ok, I have now seen it three times too and have just come back from the cinema! I don't think i could ever get bored of it and i keep noticing more things about the film which are different from the book.
The only thing that really annoys me about the film is that in one scene the Patil twins walk past and say 'Hello Harry' In the Gryffindor common room. As only one is a Gryffindor student, that isnt possible and it wouldnt have been hard to change that scene.
And, my favourite scene is still the one with Snape hitting Ron and Harry when they are doing work. It makes me laugh every time, its so cool!
