Student status in our new forum is based on student activity in the forum, or more specifically, number of messages posted. Students may progress up the ranks as follows:
1st Year 0-49 posts 2nd Year 50-124 posts 3rd Year 125-199 posts 4th Year 200-299 posts 5th Year 300-424 posts 6th Year 425-549 posts 7th Year 550-699 posts Animagus 700-849 posts Order of Merlin 850-999 posts Order of the Phoenix 1000+ posts
On your profile, you will earn one star for each two levels you progress. Hence, a 1st year student has one star, a 3rd year has 2 stars, a 5th year has 3 stars, a 7th year has 4 stars, and Order of the Merlin earns you 5.
Although it is important to play an active role at Hogwarts by posting frequently, we do advise against excessive or pointless postings. We don't want our common rooms filled up with messages saying nothing more than, "Hi, What's up?"
Administrators and moderators can bea identified by four to five colored stars in the boards they moderate.
Other than that, the number of stars depends on the number of postings. The same holds true with Prefects who are visiting other common rooms or boards where they are not moderators. Hence, in Gryffindor, the Gryffindor prefects will have five stars, but in Ravenclaw, visiting Gryffindor prefects will only have as many yellow stars as they have earned based on their number of postings.
We hope this clears up the whole "star" business. So if you want to become respected and admired as a Star yourself, start posting!
